The CDs are $8.00 each and profits from the sale of the CDs go to the Valerie Lopez-Robinson Fund. Not only do the proceeds help Val, its an awesome song!

Tailgates Benefit Next Saturday!

Just a reminder for everyone that Tailgates Sports Cafe in White Plains, MD will be holding their benefit for Valerie on Saturday, May 13, 2006 from 1 pm to 6 pm. All ages are welcome. There will be a DJ and food. Tickets will be $10.00 and proceeds will be directly sent to the Valerie Lopez-Robinson Benefit Fund. Swim-A-Thon Success!

On Tuesday, May 2, the swim team presented Valerie and her family a check for their wonderful efforts the past couple months holding Swim-a-Thons. The response to the Swim-A-Thons was tremendous. We sincerely thank everyone who was involved, participated and supported the Swim-A-Thons. There is an article in the Maryland Independent for 5-5-06 if you would like to check it out further.

Benefit Dance at Mechanicsville Fire Department

The Benefit Dance at Mechanicsville Fire Department will be held Saturday, April 15, between 8 pm and 1 am. Tickets are now available and are $25.00 per person. This includes beer and light snacks/finger food, popular band and DJ and lots of fun. We also need volunteers for this event, so let us know if you would like to help out. Please keep in mind this is an adult event.

Second Swim-A-Thon held this Saturday!

This coming up Saturday (March 18) will be the second Swim-A-Thon for Valerie. It is being hosted at St. Mary's College for the St. Mary's and Calvert teams to participate. The time is from 9 am - 11am. The last Swim-A-Thon was a huge success so I am sure this one will be too. The Applebees Fundraiser went so well this past Saturday that Applebees has generously offered to let us have another! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 8th. The breakfast will run from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Tickets are $10.00 per person. If you need tickets, please contact us at info@valerielopezrobinson.com. Additionally, if you would like to volunteer, please email us. We want to thank Lori and her staff at Applebees for their thoughtfulness and helping everyone make this such a huge success. It was truly a pleasure working with everyone!

Sport & Health Club in Waldorf is sponsoring a 50/50 Raffle to benefit Valerie

Beginning on March 10th, the Sport and Health Club in Waldorf, MD will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets. Tickets are $5 each. Swim-A-Thon To Be Held March 8!

High school swimmers from Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's counties will collect pledges per lap they swim. The goal is for each participant to swim at least 200 laps.

In Charles County they will swim on March 8 from 1-3 p.m. at Lackey and North Point. To date, 5 of the 6 schools in the county are participating. For the other counties, a similar event will take place later in March as the pool schedule at St. Mary's College opens up. All of these teams will be together for their championship meet this weekend. Because of this meet, we will have the interest of the local media and have Valerie's grandmother's permission to discuss the swim-a-thon with them to get the word out through some free publicity.

We've asked that checks for the Swim-A-Thon be paid to Thomas Stone High School. Then the school will generate one check for the event.

Tentative Date Set for My Brother's Place (MBP) Benefit/Fundraiser

A tentative date has been set for a fundraiser for Valerie at My Brother's Place (MBP) in Waldorf, MD. The date is April 22, 2006 from 12pm to 5pm. There will be bands, raffles, friends and fun. This is a popular hang out for the teenagers and young adults in our area. There is no alcohol or smoking permitted here. More information will be posted as we receive it about this event.
